The Family Welfare Bureau (later the Family Welfare Agency) was located at 1744 Levin Street from 1943 to 1980.

In 1942, The Family Welfare Agency moved to the corner of Bolton and Levin Streets in a large frame building provided to the citizens of the area by the Weil-Gehr Memorial Clinic.  In 1943, The Family Welfare Agency moved into a 5-room frame building on the rear of the clinic property at 1744 Levin Street.

In 1980, a contract was secured with Rapides General Hospital, 301 4th Street in Alexandria.  The Agency moved to the new Health Central Building.  After a successful Capital Campaign, the Family Counseling Agency moved from Health Central to its current location at 1404 Murray Street in Alexandria in July of 1985.

The Family Service Agency (later the Family Counseling Agency) was located at Health Central from 1980 to 1985.

Our current offices are located at 1404 Murray Street.  From this location, The Family Counseling Agency serves the communities of Alexandria and Pineville, as well as the following eight parishes of Central Louisiana: Rapides, Vernon, Avoyelles, Grant, Winn, LaSalle, Concordia and Catahoula.
